An interesting tidbit surfaced in the grudge match between New York's Gov. Eliott Spitzer and Senate majority leader Joseph Bruno. Spitzer says no THREAT ASSESSMENT was ever done before a security detail was assigned to guard Bruno.
Now that's an interesting question for the City Council to ask the Administration as we go into FY2008 budget deliberations.
Surely, someone performed a THREAT ASSESSMENT that determined that a CREDIBLE THREAT existed against Mayor Sharon Robinson-Briggs which justified the assignment of a full-time police security guard (all male, by the way) for Her Honor?
Now, who would that have been? The Director of Public Safety? The Chief of Police? The County Prosecutor? Some other party?
I've half a mind to put an OPRA request in for the assessment -- I don't mind it's being redacted, just as long as there is one.
