Kids learn fire safety at street festival

Future Plainfield fire chief?...

Plainfield youngsters learned about fire safety at Saturday's annual Fire Safety Fair, sponsored by the City's Fire Division and held on North Avenue between Watchung Avenue and Gavett Place.

Kids enjoyed the 'Sparky' moonbounce...

...and solving giant safety-themed jigsaw puzzles.

Kids were high-spirited, enjoying solving giant jigsaw puzzles, munching popcorn and bouncing in a giant 'Sparky' moonbounce.

Though a shower threatened the event halfway through, the sun quickly broke through the clouds and the festival went on.

Ugh... They had that street festival in front of those buildings by the train station??? Let's hope photos were kept to a minimum. Again, I have always been impressed with Plainfield's Fire and Police Department at getting out into the community.... We are lucky !!
