Beginning Monday, August 20, NJDOT will mill and resurface a four-mile stretch of Eastbound Route 22 from Victor Street in Scotch Plains to just east of the Springfield Avenue cutoff in Springfield.
Much of the work is supposed to be done at night, with occasional single- and double-lane closures.
Concrete work on the shoulders will be done in the daytime, necessitating some shoulder and single-lane closures during 'off-peak hours', according to NJDOT.
Does anyone know of what daytime off-peak hours on Rt 22 might mean?
What it really means is, if you use Rt 22 regularly, make plans and leave plenty of time.
A word to the wise...
