Back in March, when friends and I had lunch at Cousin's, the Caribbean restaurant in the Park-Madison office complex at Front Street and Park Avenue, I noticed a severe settlement in the fake brick pavers in front of the restaurant and suggested to owner Betty Garvey she might want to call it to the landlord's attention before a customer twisted an ankle.
Time flies by -- as always when you're having fun -- and I lost track of the issue.
But on a recent visit to the downtown block, I notice the settlement issue had been 'repaired'.
Why the quote marks?
What kind of a repair would you call this -- in the photo below?
Never mind the fake brickwork, just throw some patching concrete down.
As Rodney Dangerfield used to say, "we don't get no respect."
UCIA insoUCIAnce?
That's a nice word for a summer Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, Cousin's is still just as good as it was last winter -- if not better.
Check it out, now that you won't risk a trip-and-fall.
