Looks like the state pension board is starting to go spineless in the matter of the Rahway business administrator and redevelopment director who collected $330,000 in pension benefits between 2002 and 2006, while retaining -- as a consultant -- the title from which he had retired, and earning more than $294,000 while collecting his pension.
Too bad you're not Verizon, so you could check out the phone calls of the various players in this typically Jersey story.
Maybe, as Tom Moran quoted her yesterday, Sen. Loretta Weinberg is right: "These people have turned government into a profit-making machine ... Something is basically wrong."
- Ledger: "Pension board revisits decision to reclaim pay"
- Tom Moran: "Bergen's merry band of reformers" -- Weinberg and crew go on the offensive.
