How's that for putting Plainfield on the map in a nice way!
The award, which is made jointly by the US Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, will allow Dr. Lommerin to host an administrator from the Czech Republic, Milena Halkova, for six weeks from mid-October through November. Ms. Halkova will shadow Chris at Maxson during the period, jointly performing daily administrative duties. Ms. Halkova will also be staying in Plainfield during her six weeks here.
To reciprocate, Dr. Lommerin will travel to the Czech Republic where, from mid-February through March next year, he will work with Ms. Halkova at her school, which is half an hour from Prague, the beautiful and historic Czech capital.
I am sure Plainfielders will be thrilled that Chris has received this outstanding recognition and take every opportunity to congratulate him -- and to welcome Ms. Halkova if we get a chance to meet her.
Chris, I knew you were headed for great things when, costumed as an owl, you led your Stillman School students up the street in broad daylight for a visit to the Plainfield Public Library.
Útěchy!
