9 AM - 2 PM, Hispanic Health Fair
This is the annual Hispanic Health Fair, organized by Alma Cruz of the Plainfield Public Schools. And for this year, new digs -- the PHS Cafeteria. Free screenings of all sorts, from blood pressure to cholesterol to blood pressure to osteoporosis. The event is free, and will include refreshments and raffles. State Sen. Barbara Buono's bus tour of central Jersey communities includes a stop in Plainfield this afternoon. It's the perfect opportunity for the base to show its support and for those who haven't been paying much attention to politics so far to see, hear and meet the woman who will challenge Chris Christie in the general election. Swain Galleries presents four young artists in an exhibit titled 'In The Details'. Showing are Brandon Drake, Tomas Hurtado, Andrew Judd and Dwayne Watson. The artists will be present at the reception to greet old friends and make new ones. Today's opening reception is form 5 - 7 PM; the show runs through May 31.
