Today's FOSH Garage Sale will once again work its magic, drawing thousands of visitors to the Queen City for a day of bargain shopping and sightseeing.
Annually drawing large crowds of attendees, the FOSH (Friends of Sleepy Hollow) garage sale is the grandaddy of them all. Cleverly marketed by FOSH over the years with lots of paid publicity, and with all the paperwork centralized to make it easier for homeowner participation, the event draws the largest number of visitors to Plainfield of any annual event except the July 4th Parade.
Today's sale runs from 9 AM - 4 PM, and includes several clusters of homes besides the Sleepy Hollow core. You can consider starting your shopping in the 900-block of Madison Avenue (for the Van Wyck Brooks HS cluster) or along Watchung Avenue between Leland and Woodland Avenues. Maps for the locations of all participants are available at each location. The back of each map lists locations and the special items available at each.
