Palm Sunday gunplay took place near Neighborhood House. |
Gunplay was reported by a Plainfield Today reader near their West 4th Street home Palm Sunday afternoon.
While listening to a basketball game, the reader heard several 'pop-pop-pop' sounds they at first mistook for fireworks, then realized must be gunshots. The shots were apparently fired from a moving vehicle. Luckily, no one was injured.
The reader lives in the block in which the City's venerable Neighborhood House preschool is located. On a weekday, there would have been the chance of children and others being on the street. The normally quiet neighborhood of older frame homes is an unlikely location for gun violence.
Five Plainfield Police squad cars quickly responded. The reader did not know whether there was any indication that ShotSpotter picked up the gunshots.
