Breast cancer awareness 'Speak Out' event tonight

Plainfield Passionistas, a breast cancer awareness group, is hosting a 'Speak Out' event this evening in collaboration with the Plainfield Public Schools at the Myrtle Avenue Administration Building's cafetorium.

The event is in aid of the Tiffany Corbett Scholarship Fund, named after the beloved teacher of over forty years in the Plainfield schools.

Speakers include Caryl Lucas, author, speaker and life coach; Tammy Holmes Anderson, author of Sacred Wellness and Beauty; and Rev. Rosalyn Moore, motivational speaker.

The program will include inspiring messages from the guest speakers, entertainment (including song, poetry, dance and spoken word), and an opportunity for all to step up to the 'open mike' and share muruting experiences in coping with personal battles.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Dan: as a woman, I am aware of all the emotional resonance the subject of breast cancer has for me and others. However, please note, more women in the US die of heart disease than all cancers. Let's warn women of the various risks which affect their lives and may shorten them. Nonetheless, all heath education is worthwhile, so I hope women and men and teens attend.
