Workshops offered for all kinds of grief

There are many things for which people may need to grieve beyond the loss of a loved one: loss of a job, a broken relationship, loss of skills and abilities or future possibilities, loss of a home or a feeling of safety.

And the need to grieve and have one's grief acknowledged is not limited to adults; children and teens also have reasons to grieve.

HomeFirst and its Family Success Center are offering a workshop series of six sessions for those coping with grief in any of its forms.

Facilitated by Lisa Athan, MA, founder of Grief Speaks (see her website here), the series will help enrollees voice their grief, learn how to support fellow grievers and develop coping tools and strategies regardless of the nature of the loss or the age of the griever.

The six session free series will begin Thursday April 7 and continue through May 12.

Space is limited and enrollment is required. The group will be closed to further enrollments after the opening session.

For more information and to enroll in this free program, call Agness McLean, Director of the Family Success Center, at (908) 743-4002 x26.

All sessions will be conducted at The Family Success Center, 905 Watchung Avenue.
