Jerry to reveal his brackets at Plainfield Dem meeting Thursday

As political Plainfield gears up for the Spring playoffs, Assemblyman Jerry Green, chair of the Plainfield Democratic City Committee, has called a meeting for this Thursday.

On the agenda will be the revelation of Jerry's brackets for the June primary, where Ward 2 and Wards 1/4 nominees are up, plus the entire 68-seat City Committee. Assemblyman Green will also update the committee on the newly configured 22nd Legislative District, the map for which is being vote on Sunday (today) at noon.

With the revelation at the last PDCC meeting that the Committee has only $241 in the bank, it should come as no surprise that the meeting has been moved to a less expensive venue -- the YMCA. The PDCC was paying $100/meeting for the HeardOne complex on Church Street, after having used the YWCA for several years.

The return to the YMCA brings the PDCC full circle, as it used to meet there for many years before the tenure of Addy Bonet as YM exec.

Now, if Jerry could only have some nice things to say about the YMCA, which is making tremendous strides under its Director Ravenell Williams and an expanded and
reinvigorated board.

Guests are always welcome, though the privilege of the floor is reserved to committee members and those who are given permission to speak by Chairperson Green in advance of the meeting.

Is there any truth to the rumor that a member of the mayor's church will be running for the Plainfield city council on Assemblyman Greens line? This website is being spread around. She haven't worked for the democratic party which Mr. Green have said is important in giving the line. Neither have Mr. Rucker been an active Democrat. At least Vera Greaves shows up.
