Children caught in crossfire by masked gunmen

Gunplay continues in Plainfield even as the Christmas holiday approaches. Am told that three masked gunmen ran into a hallway at one of the Elmwood Gardens buildings on West Second Street over the weekend and began firing shots.

Children and female teenagers were caught in the crossfire in the hallway.

Miraculously, no one was hurt.

And there are those who think Elmwood Gardens shouldn't be replaced with safer housing?

Hell I can't wait for Elmwood to be torn down. I say sell raffle tickets to be the first one to pull the wrecking ball

So when they close down Elmwood Gardens, you think that would end the violence? And what do you mean by safer housing? Possibly a gated community with its own security force?
Or perhaps they convert one building from living quarters into a satellite police station and have everyone entering the complex go through airport style security?
There are laws on the books that the police and union county are not even using! Why?

It is shameful that the mayor of this city has yet to request assistance from the state police or any other governmental agency. We are at crisis proportions and she is asleep at the wheel.......what will it take to recall her and her puppet-master....Jerry Green?fackboun
