With Gov. Jon Corzine expected at a Plainfield meet-and-greet Sunday (his first pre-announced campaign event in the Queen City), I toodled on by the neighborhood on Friday to see how things looked.
Surprise!
While in other heavily-Democratic communities where the incumbent candidate makes an appearance one might expect Public Works crews to discreetly police the area to make it presentable, there is no option for presentability in Plainfield, even if Assemblyman Green and Mayor Robinson-Briggs wanted it.
Reason?
The road is under construction.
So the Governor, if he does come, will have to pick his way past piles of gravel and a roadway torn up for new curbs and corner cuts.
At least, you can't accuse the Robinson-Briggs administration of using taxpayer monies for political campaigning.
Plainfield is soooooo ahead of the curve!

Well Dan- Sharon can always say,
"Hi Corzine. Come on in but please excuse the mess -Jerry and I didn't have time to clean up the house . . . uh. . . I mean Plainfield. Anyway -can I get you something to eat?"
Dan,
Such pettiness on your part.
Peter
Um, how many dozens of times have you complainers whined about the roads projects and maintenance? Now that it's being done youre whining about that. Don't you ever get tired of listening to yourselves?
