Plainfield Assemblyman Jerry Green.
Jerry Green, Assemblyman and chairperson of the Plainfield Democratic City Committee should be the next Assembly Speaker now that Joe Roberts, the current Speaker has announced he will not run for re-election in November.
Why not?
Jerry Green has served long enough -- since 1992, seventeen incredible years!
Jerry Green has risen high enough -- he has been Speaker Pro Tempore since 2008!
Jerry Green chairs an important committee -- Housing and Local Government.
Jerry Green oversees an important department -- The Department of Community Affairs.
The media are reporting today that in the wake of Speaker Joe Roberts announcement he will not run in November, candidates are lining up -- including South Jersey pol Donald Norcross, brother of powerhouse George Norcross; and three current Assembly members, Bonnie Watson Coleman, Joe Cryan and John Wisniewiski.
Beware! They are all pretenders and mountebanks!
None can trump Jerry Green's strongest suit -- being the representative of Greater Oz!
This would be the perfect cherry atop the banana split of public service.
Go for it, Jerry!

uhhh...who wrote this? Did someone hack into your computer Dan?
LOL
I almost fell out of my chair. Is it April 1st and I have somehow missed the Fall and Winter?
Don't scare us Dan...shame on you.
Be careful what you satirize, it might come true.
Dare I say this could be a good thing? Were Mr. Green the Assembly's Speaker, he would have much less time to meddle in Plainfield's affairs.
What's the end of the joke?
Jerry always claims he's the "number three" guy in the assembly.
Now he's "NUMBER TWO"--just as we all thought!
Yes, he should be in line for this job. Wonder why no one is mentioning his name? Do we all now see that Jerry, too, haas a puppetmaster that he pays fealty to??
nobody in their right mind would even think of Jerry. He's a hack, content to get just crumbs for Plainfield. He keeps this plantation quiet.
By reading Jerry's Blog today, one would assume that he is a serious name being considered for the Speakership.
This is amazing to me. Unless you are from Mars, I can not imagine anyone else but Jerry who would think this. His colleagues think he is a joke; the Governor won't even give him a look when he comes to town, and his running mate stays as far away from him as possible so as not to get his stink.
How can he actually believe that they take him seriously? Is he completely delusional or completely narcissistic?
Jerry Green says he was "approached" about becoming speaker. Those of us who actually DO know the real leadership in Trenton have asked around, and the response was pure LAUGHTER! No way, no how. Ask the people in the 20th district. You will see them muffle their laughs.
Jerry Green, number two. When I was a kid, number two was a euphemism for...nah, too easy.
