My inbox and the 'comments' section on Plainfield Today are flooded constantly with messages from people who are unhappy with the direction -- or should I say LACK of direction -- in which Plainfield appears to be going.
People who are frustrated over the many little idiocies of this Administration and its failure to mount any effective communications about the City or what is going on in it.
People who feel that the majority of the Council has totally abandoned its role of being a critical partner of the Administration and has become instead a tame pussycat, a rubberstamp, and more than willing to cede Plainfield's best interests to those who have paid and now want to play -- at our expense.
Thousands of Plainfielders no doubt received the Mother's Day greeting (pictured above) from Democratic City Council candidates Annie McWilliams and Adrian Mapp.
And that mailing presents you with an opportunity to do something about the things that have frustrated you about this Administration.
The mailing signifies the public launch of their campaigns.
As I have noted before, I am supporting them and have even taken on the chore of being Annie's treasurer. (I say 'chore' advisedly, as I am not a natural-born bookkeeper.)
Now is the time to rally friends and neighbors to support the candidacies of Annie and Adrian -- who will bring NEW IDEAS, NEW ENERGY and a NEW SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY TO YOU THE VOTERS when they are elected to the City Council.
I am happy to support them and believe they can do more to help RECOVER PLAINFIELD'S MOMENTUM AND PRIDE than all the posts I can ever write or all the comments you, dear readers, can ever make.
Let's put our shoulders to the wheel for REAL CHANGE!
For the good of Plainfield.
Would you put up a yard sign? Can you volunteer to make calls or walk with the candidates? Is money just ready to leap from your checkbook?
Drop me an email (just click HERE) and I will forward it to the campaign crew.
You'll be happy you did.
And so will Plainfield.

Hey Dan,
I am very interested in meeting Annie and hearing what she has to say. I wasn't able to make the brunch at the YMCA last Saturday - are any other events like this planned?
How about she starts a blog?
