The mayor apologizes

You could have knocked me over with a feather! Never in the six long years under the current Mayor of Plainfield has Plainfield Today ever received a press release or other written communication from Her Honor.

Yet the following was found in my inbox today and I print it herewith without elaboration or comment --

Dear Council President and Honorable members of the Governing Body:

Let this communication serve as the apology that I hope will allow us to rebuild a working relationship in the interest of advancing our beloved city.

I admit that in the matter that has been so contentious, I took monies intended by their donor for one purpose and applied them to another without the donor's knowledge or permission.

Since I have concluded that there is no way I will be given the Democratic Party's line for a third term, I am interested in building a legacy and am most desirous of working cooperatively with the Council over the next year and a half.

Hoping that this gesture will suffice to have the fine and reprimand levied be withdrawn, I am most anxious to submit this apology for your reception and action today, not waiting a moment longer.

Yours sincerely....
Will miracles never cease?

NICE! I'll be sending a copy to the attorney general and county prosecutor. She has now openly admitted to theft by deception.

Let justice be served!
