Hidden Plainfield: 'Tucked Away' property ID

Clawson Court dangles, appendix-like, off Park Avenue.

View of the condos on Clawson Court.
(Fact the photo is in color absolves Blogger from my photo
problems and points finger at my photo editor.)

I tried to sneak a clue in yesterday's Hidden Plainfield by saying the location reminded me of the human vermiform appendix, otherwise simply known as our 'appendix' -- suggesting...the Muhlenberg Hospital neighborhood?

One person nailed it: the condos are located on Clawson Court, tucked away off Park Avenue and only visible if you're looking for them and then only if you're heading northbound on Park Avenue.

I remember quite a fuss when they were built a number of years ago, that access to Kensington Avenue be permanently blocked off with posts forcing everyone to use Park Avenue.

Where shall we go next week?

Dan, Clawson was a through but unpaved street between Kensington and Park but because it was being used as a raceway shortcut the heavy posts were placed at both ends to stop any access. The property know as Clawson Court was vacant for many years due to a restrictive deed, and I am not sure how it was put aside. My old office was the 2nd house a "Cape Cod" just north of Clawson,it is now a Chiropracter's office.

I am not sure when the Kensington end of the street was abandoned by the city.
