Plainfield's City Council meets in a special session this evening, sitting as the local Alcoholic Beverage Control board to hear the renewals of two local liquor licenses.

The hearing sets the stage for possible conditions on the renewal of the two licenses, where police have had extraordinary numbers of calls, including fights, drug activity, and serving underage persons in the past year.

Licensees on the hot seat this evening are the popular Pueblo Viejo bar on West Front Street downtown and the Clinton Avenue Deli/Liquor Store, at Clinton Avenue and West Front Street.

The meeting is at 8:00 PM in the City Hall Library.

Please deny these licenses. We don't need any more establishments selling alcohol. We already have enough, in fact, we have more than any other surrounding cities.
