Assemblyman John S. Wisniewski, the new chair of the New Jersey state Democratic Party is the invited speaker at Friday's meeting of the Plainfield Democratic City Committee, according to the meeting notice sent out by Assemblyman Jerry Green, chair of the local Democratic organization.
(NOTE CORRECTED LOCATION BELOW -- 'WEATHER PERMITTING')
Wisniewski was chosen the state party's leader in January (see stories here; and here), just as the national party was stunned by the loss of Ted Kennedy's Senate seat to an upstart Republican, and New Jersey's newly-elected Gov. Chris Christie began to wade into the state's budget deficit with bold -- and upsetting -- executive orders.
Wisniewski issued a statement last week marking the first month of the Christie administration (see here).
Battle lines, it appears, have been drawn.

What's so upsetting about Christie's executive orders? I think it's great. He can't sign enough of them in my view. The more the merrier.
To 6:47am - I am with you. I find it amusing that the very people who were in the forefront of giving out the taxpayers money to friends and relatives are now saying that we have to reign in spending. Where have they been for the past 10 years?
And, why for goodness sakes do we keep putting the same people in power who support the heavy taxes and selfish bills that support them?
What has the Democratic House/Senate done for the state of New Jersey in the past 10 years that has helped us? We have gone from one of the most business friendly states in 2002 to dead last - numero 50 this year and last. We have become the state with the highest property taxes in the nation. So why do these guys keep getting in? Can someone explain this to me?
