Yet another shooting...
That 'slight uptick' in violence in Plainfield that Public Safety Director Martin Hellwig recently noted continues.
I am told that a 22-year-old male was shot in the 800-block of East Third Street Tuesday evening. This is a quiet block near St. Mary's Cemetery which has hitherto escaped the gunplay 'uptick'.
I have no further details, but there is one interesting circumstance -- the identity of the victim is not even known to police officers. Now why would anyone want the victim's identity kept that secret?

Deep undercover personnel?
Maybe we should downplay Hellwig and let him look for another job, as he doesn't seem very good at this one. I'd prefer our police chief back.
I agree with Bob 100%
