Another homicide...

Plainfield police have a new homicide to contend with, it appears.

I just got word that a man found at East Front Street near Roosevelt Avenue about 4:00 AM today had died from a gunshot wound rather than a hit-and-run auto accident as police originally suspected.

More when details emerge.

Unfortunately, this shooting made the news on ABC and other major networks. Just what we need. What plan does this administration and her friend Martin Hellwig have for dealing with this cancer in Plainfield? I haven't heard anything that gives me any hope.

The gun laws on law abiding citizens get tougher, and the gunplay increases!
What did Jefferson once say?
‘‘Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.’’

— Jefferson's "Commonplace Book," 1774-1776, quoting from On Crimes and Punishment, by criminologist Cesare Beccaria, 1764
