A New Year for Plainfield?

We bid farewell to the old year tonight, but will 2012 be a New Year for Plainfield?

As a new Council reorganizes the corporation's affairs on Tuesday evening, we can only hope so.

As the City begins its new CALENDAR YEAR budget process, we can only hope the Robinson-Briggs administration will deliver its 2012 budget proposal in a more timely fashion than in the previous six years.

With a new City Administrator and a new Director of Public Works and Urban Development, we can only hope that these experienced administrators will be empowered by Mayor Robinson-Briggs to move the City forward in an intelligent and proactive way.

With Plainfield's relocation into a new Congressional district, will our new Representative move to include Plainfield's needs and concerns into his legislative agenda in Washington? We can only hope.

As we move into a New Year, hope is the only attitude that will truly carry us forward.

Aren't we lucky we can't be stuck with this cow of a mayor much longer. If little movement and the ability to chew cud were the only requirement for being mayor, Sharon would have been a great success, but she has embarrassed Plainfield and hurt the citizens of this city.

You know...I had vowed never to comment on your blog ever again...to the joy of many of the regular readers I am sure...

--- Who the hell are you wishing for change ??? The last election you had a chance to make a change. Dan...you are so hypocritical HOPING, WISHING, THINKING, IMPLYING that change is possible. YOU PROVED your inability to CHANGE. It's almost laughable you wasted the time typing the post.
Happy 2012.
It will be the exact same as 2011, 2010, and 2013 with people like you with your narrow minded mentality toward politics. You are part of the problem. You, Adrian Mapp, Cory Storch..>ALL PART OF THE PROBLEM. ALl of you vote ideology, not reality. You're all no better than Soviet Era Communist party members. Hoping the very broken wheel you are a spoke of will somehow fix itself. You and the rest of the New Dems need some serious self reflection. Sharon Robinson-Briggs may be a hot mess....but she is NO hypocrite.

Rob! I have soooo missed your comments, but had no idea why you had dropped out.

Thanks for posting, I hope you'll be back on a regular basis in 2012.

As for politics, would it be more like America or more like the Soviet Union if everyone marched in lockstep?

Happy New Year and welcome back!
