Two Sales: Nellie Dixon's Moving Sale, Swain Galleries Holiday Items

Nellie Dixon's Moving Sale, 731 Huntington Avenue.

Swain Galleries is at 7th & Watchung, across from Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church.
This weekend, two opportunities to find unique gift and holiday items (for those who aren't completely finished shopping).

Nellie Dixon, who was honored at a reception at the Plainfield Public Library (and with the presentation of a resolution by the City Council), is having a Moving Sale this weekend as she prepares to leave for warmer climes.

And Swain Galleries is having a special weekend-only sale on all Holiday items.

Times of both opportunities are noted below.

NELLIE DIXON MOVING SALE

Sunday, December 18, 10 AM - 6 PM. At 731 Huntington Avenue (near Grant Avenue).

Nellie is a legendary figure in Black memorabilia and collectibles, and part of this weekend's sale will include items from her personal collection of Black figurines, cloth and china dolls, cookie jars and other collectibles, as well as post cards, advertising cards and other paper items, PLUS books by and about African American authors -- including first editions and out-of-print items.

There is a complete 16-place setting of Ruby Red glass dinnerware, including dinner plates, salad plates, bowls and goblets.

Also, framed artwork and prints, tables, furniture and kitchen items and small appliances.

For more information, call (908) 756-7612 or email nelldixon@verizon.net.
SWAIN GALLERIES HOLIDAY ITEMS SALE

Saturday, December 17 (9:30 AM - 4 PM) and Sunday (Noon - 4 PM). Swain Galleries is at Watchung Avenue and East 7th Street (parking off Watchung Avenue).

This weekend only, Ann Swain is offering 25% OFF on all Christmas-related items. There is a fabulous selection of small decorative objects and Christmas-themed items you won't want to miss -- including the cupcake candles that were so realistic I asked if she were selling 'eats' for the Holidays!

Surely an opportunity for quality stocking-stuffers and decorative items you won't want to miss.
