Election Day: Lines, signs everywhere...Burma Shave, too!

The line at Hubbard School at 6:45 AM.

Plainfielders are turning out in droves for the election that is all about change.

Going out for the papers at 6:30, I took time to drive past a number of polling places. All were crowded as never before, some -- like Hubbard and Barlow schools -- with lines stretching down the block.

Here are some of the lines and signs of Plainfield on the day America is voting for change.

The line at Barlow School snaked down Farragut Road and around the corner on Front Street.

Most of the long line at Cedarbrook was inside the building.

The same was true of Plainfield High School,
where voters reported some confusion in the foyer.

The Ward 3 seat is contested, with Brenda Gilbert running a write-in campaign.

The Democratic City Council candidates' distinctive blue sign.

A home-made Burma Shave-style sign for Obama at Kensington & Thornton.
Looks to be made by a youngster. Great!
