The Plainfield Public Library's ongoing project to expand its collection of photographs of contemporary Plainfield will open an exhibit of this year's second annual photo contest at 7 PM Wednesday evening.
The photographs of more than forty participants will be on display in the Anne Louise Davis Meeting Room at the library as officials and participants gather for an opening reception.
"With extensive collections documenting Plainfield life from the 19th century through the 1970s, we feel it is important to continue to document contemporary Plainfield life and this annual contest provides a fun and effective vehicle for doing so," says Library Director Joe Da Rold.
This year's exhibit is themed 'Plainfield: A Multicultural Community'. Entries were judged by a panel of professional and amateur photographers and the exhibit is sponsored by the city's Cultural and Heritage Commission.
The public is cordially invited. Refreshments will be served.
