[Update, 12:30 PM -- As with any story involving the Assemblyman, there is more than meets the eye. Watch for an update over the weekend.]
Just when Plainfielders thought it was safe to exhale, the Courier breaks a story (see here) this morning that interim schools superintendent Peter Carter and his top aides have submitted letters of resignation to the Board of Ed.
The dispute appears to be over contractual and remuneration matters.
One question on everyone's mind is going to be: These were your picks. What is going on? And why should this end up in the papers? Wasn't there an effort to negotiate these differences through normal procedures and channels?
Plainfielders are going to want to know.

It sounds like Plainfield is being held hostage! Maybe these "educators" are not aware of the "day rate". A per day pay even if you work 6 hours or 20 hours a day. Goverment/city employees should work in the REAL world like the tax payers, who pay their salaries.
So much for putting our children first, Mr. Superintendent and colleagues.
Two superindents abruptly resign within two months suggests that maybe the school board is to blame. Have any of these politicians any experience at running anything?
