Banner features groups that will be performing.

The first of what is hoped will be an annual Plainfield festival celebrating Salvadorean music and culture begins today at 5:00 PM in the public lot adjacent to the Supremo supermarket.

Rodney Maree's Voluntad Productions is sponsoring the three day fiesta, which runs through Sunday night.

There will be non-stop music groups, a variety of ethnic foods, children's rides and more. A special feature will be a contest to choose a festival queen, who will be crowned on the closing day.

The fiesta is open to the entire community. Hours are: Friday, 5 PM - 11 PM; Saturday and Sunday, Noon - 11 PM.
