The Plainfield Public Library's 2012 Photo Contest exhibit opens today. This year's mouth-watering theme is 'Plainfield: Eating Out / Eating In'.

Plainfield photographers -- amateur and professional -- were invited to capture the Plainfield food scene. Each year's contest focuses on a theme and the entries become part of the Library's permanent photographic record of contemporary Plainfield life.

The exhibit is on display in the Anne Louise Davis Gallery on the lower level of the Library. The opening reception today is from 1:00 - 3:00 PM, during which time Library Director Joe Da Rold will present awards as decided by a panel of judges.

Dan I am glad to see you up and running again. Can you please tell the community that the red cross is in the back of City Hall today giving out food, water, lawn products, cleaning products. I happen to be walking by and discovered this. There is no line. I know over a dozen people that need help and probably are not aware. The City need to do a better job. The council and administration do not need to make this political, there are a lot of people hurting. To see Lawrence Rive there taking pictures made me sick to my stomach. The council need to do a better job of communicating to their residents not just when they need a VOTE.
