Weekend Kickoff: Homecoming, Act IV play, Muhlenberg fundraiser

Snyder Schools of Nursing at Muhlenberg will benefit from tonight's Gala.
Another big weekend for Plainfield kicks off today with several events (I will post Saturday's full slate later) --

PHS HOMECOMING BONFIRE AND DANCE

According to the School District's website, the Homecoming Dance is at 8:00 PM tonight at the High School, with the bonfire presumably before the dance, also at the High School. (I have been unable to open the links on the District's website -- as have several teachers and staff members who have complained of same. Webmaster: Please make info available in a non-Flash link as well as the carousel. Thank you!)
ACT IV FALL PREMIERE: TALKING WITH...

At the First Unitarian Society, Act IV opens its fall season tonight at 8 PM with a production of 'Talking With...', a collection of monologues by women, including fantasies of a bag lady, the ploys of an actress auditioning for a part and the thoughts of a woman in her 23rd hour of labor. The Act IV production is directed by Barbara Van Savage. Tickets at the door are $17/person, $14/seniors and students. Info: (908) 756-0750. The First Unitarian Society is at 724 Park Avenue. Parking available in the public lot across Park Avenue.
MUHLENBERG SCHOOL OF NURSING FUNDRAISER

'Corks and Forks', the Muhlenberg Foundation's gala wine tasting fundraiser for the Harold and Dorothy Snyder School of Nursing at the Muhlenberg Campus is tonight at the Shackamaxon Country Club in Scotch Plains. For more info, call the Foundation office at (732) 321-7063.
...AND THE OPENING OF GERRY HEYDT'S SHOW AT STUDIO 7

Plainfield landscape artist Gerry Heydt's show entitled 'Reflections' open with a reception from 6 to 9 PM tonight at Studio 7 Fine Arts Gallery, 5 Morristown Road, Bernardsville. The title is a play on words, since it is both a reflection by Gerry on her work over time and contains a number of pieces in which streams, rivers and water play a prominent role. For more, see my previous post here.
Apologies for the late post this morning...power has failed twice while getting blog posts up. Thanks for your patience.
