Nathan Rudy new Tri-County Red Cross exec

Plainfield-based Tri-County Chapter of the Red Cross has named Nathan Rudy of North Plainfield as its new executive director.

Rudy will be familiar to many Plainfielders as a member of the North Plainfield Borough Council from 1998 through 2006.

He comes to the job from a stint as spokersperson and speechwriter for the state's Division of Health and Human Services.

Long active in both public relations and Democratic politics, Rudy brings a wealth of experience and a network of contacts that will surely be of use to the Red Cross organization.

"We are excited to have Nathan Rudy on board," said Shel Goldberg, the chapter's board chair. "Nathan has the kind of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm that will take the chapter to greater heights."

Based in Plainfield, the Tri-County chapter has served the Union, Somerset and Middlesex area since 1922.

If you are interested in working with the Tri-County Red Cross, call (908) 756-6414 to volunteer, receive training or make a contribution. More information on services, volunteer opportunities and online donations is available at the chapter's website.
