With Spring -- and daylight savings time -- rapidly approaching, Plainfielders can quicken their pulses with two exhibits opening today.
Library board member Joe Stuczynski has mounted a photography show entitled 'Plainfield: Then And Now' which debuts in the Anne Louise Davis Gallery of the Plainfield Public Library from 1:00 - 3:00 PM today.
Joe has delved into the library's collection of over 20,000 images of Plainfield life stretching back to the 1860s and contrasted the historic photos with his own capturing today's uses and activities. For more information, visit the Library's exhibit page (here).
Clear Day At Asbury, by Paul Casale.
From 5:00 - 7:00 PM, you can catch the opening of Cranford painter Paul Casale's 'Realist Visions' at Swain Galleries.
A graduate of Pratt, Casale has been painting for more than twenty years and has received numerous commissions. His style recalls the realism of 19th century painters, but with a thoroughly contemporary subject matter. The exhibit runs through March 31.
Learn more about the artist at his website (here) or visit Swain Galleries website (here).
This being Plainfield, both events will include light receptions.
Come on out.
