Plainfield artist Indira Bailey, recipient of a Fulbright-Hayes Fellowship to South Africa, will be honored at an artist's reception Saturday afternoon at the Plainfield Public Library, where her show of oils and charcoals inspired by the trip is on exhibit.
Titled 'Uhambo', which is Zulu for 'journey', the pieces in the show reflect Bailey's impressions of South African life in her journeys from the large cities of Johannesburg and Cape Town through small villages and observing rural life.
Saturday's reception and opportunity to meet the artist is from 1:00 - 3:00 PM in the Library's Anne Louise Davis Meeting Room.
