Breaking news on NJ.com is that the FBI's Newark office has busted 11 current and past public officials on corruption charges involving kickbacks on roofing and insurance contracts with school districts and municipalities.

Launched in the troubled Pleasantville school district, west of Atlantic City, the investigation spread to north Jersey.

Assemblyman Mims Hackett, who is also Mayor of Orange is accused of accepting $5,000. Sammy Rivera, Mayor of Passaic, stands accused of accepting the same amount.

The eleven are to be arraigned in Trenton this afternoon. US Attorney Chris Christie is expected to hold a press conference at 3:30 PM.

Starting to get interesting, huh?
