Still inspiring zeal for the common welfare... |
Plainfield City Council has a twilight doubleheader tonight.
In a special business meeting called for 7:00 PM, the only item of business will be the second reading, public hearing and final adoption of ordinance MC 2014-17, to put a public question on the November ballot which would authorize the establishment of a Plainfield Open Space Trust Fund.
Funds would be generated by an additional levy of about $20 per annum per taxpayer, which the Administration estimates would bring in about $145,000 per year to be used for acquiisition of open space and maintenance of open space and recreational facilities.
The regular agenda-setting session is slated for 7:30 PM. PMUA Executive Director Dan Williamson has been invited by Council President Bridget Rivers to give an update on Plainfield's favorite agency.
Both meetings will be in the Council Chambers/Courthourse at East 4th Street and Watchung Avenue.
