Plainfield
ers join the rest of the nation in shock at the bombings near the finish point of the Boston Marathon Monday.

Though no one has yet taken credit for the bombing, you can be sure that authorities are at work trying to sift through any and all clues and will ultimately find the perpetrator(s) and bring them to justice.

It is treacherous to prey upon tens of thousands of innocent enthusiasts out to participate in and watch a world-famous running event. There is a terrible irony to the horror in that many runners were running in remembrance of the children and educators killed in the mass shooting at Connecticut's Sandy Hook Elementary School.

One word that is beginning to emerge is to describe the response of Americans as 'resilient', and that ultimately Americans will assert their right and expectation of celebrating public events without fear of danger or subterfuge.

In the meantime, all we can do is keep the victims, as well as those who escaped injury but were present, in our thoughts and prayers.
