Entries in the Plainfield Public Library's 4th annual photography contest will be on display in an exhibit that opens today with a reception from 1 -3 PM in the Anne Louise Davis Gallery.
This year's theme is 'Four Seasons in Plainfield' and amateur and professional photographers have submitted more than 80 entries, according to library director Joe Da Rold.
This year's exhibit also include photos from elementary school students and seniors who were supplied with disposable cameras with which to record their entries.
The annual contest is funded by the Friends of the Plainfield Public Library and is designed to continually supplement the library's extensive photographic collection recording life and happenings in the Queen City.
The exhibit will be on display through the month of November.

Congrats to Dan on the fistful of ribbons he collected at the show. It's really worth the trip downstairs in the library. All should go and see some wonderful photos of our town.
It was great to meet you, Dan! I've admired your photography from past competitions and your works this year didn't disappoint me.
Thank you, Joan, and Jackie it was good to meet you, too!
I find the photos so interesting, especially when you consider that other people see an interesting picture which captures something about the spirit of Plainfield where I may have just hurried by in search of something else.
Hoping even more folks will take up a camera and give it a try in 2010....
