Mayor Mapp hosts fundraiser for Mills-Ransome Friday

SEE CORRECTION BELOW. Plainfield Mayor Adrian O. Mapp and his wife Amelia will host a cocktail reception for Wards 2/3 at-large candidate Joylette Mills-Ransome this Friday (April 7) from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at their home, St. George's Manor, 535 West 8th Street.
Mills-Ransome, a longtime Plainfield and Democratic party activist is a retired administrator from the Newark Public Schools. She is also chairperson of Plainfield's chapter of the League of Women Voters CORRECTION: Joylette was Voter Services chair of the Plainfield League of Women Voters (celebrating its 97th year in 2017), but stepped down from that role when she knew she would be running for office. She is also active at Shiloh Baptist Church, where she is a member.
Joylette was appointed to the seat made vacant when Rebecca Williams was elected citywide Councilor-at-large. To fill out the rest of Williams' unexpired term, Mills-Ransome must best any contenders in the June Primary and then be elected by Plainfield's complete body of registered voters in the November election.

Suggested donations range as high as $500 per person and may be made at the door.
