Mills-Ransome, a longtime Plainfield and Democratic party activist is a retired administrator from the Newark Public Schools.
Joylette was appointed to the seat made vacant when Rebecca Williams was elected citywide Councilor-at-large. To fill out the rest of Williams' unexpired term, Mills-Ransome must best any contenders in the June Primary and then be elected by Plainfield's complete body of registered voters in the November election.
Suggested donations range as high as $500 per person and may be made at the door.
