Is Plainfield's most prominent Trump supporter also one of the Queen City's newest Republicans?
Could be.
Word travels slowly uphill from Elizabeth to Plainfield, but it eventually reaches the county's reliable Democratic stronghold.
And the word is that longtime Democratic ward heeler, Dem City Committee member, and Housing Authority commissioner Hattie Williams has switched her party registration to Republican.
So, as Donald Trump clinches the Republican nomination, can we expect to see the formidable Ms. Williams campaigning for him?
Or is there some other reason for the switch of political allegiance?
Politics, as they say, certainly makes for strange bedfellows.
