Time for your flu shot! |
Plainfield Health Officer Denise Proctor has scheduled
The first of three free flu clinics for Plainfield residents for the 2014 flu season will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on the first floor of the City Hall Annex at 510 Watchung Avenue.
Friday evening the location will be St. Mary's Church School building, at the corner of West 6th and Liberty Streets, again from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
The CDC recommends that annual flu shots be gotten at the beginning of the flu season each year -- ideally during October -- and the Plainfield program is right on target.
Who should get flu shots? There are vaccines available for every age from childhood on up. But two groups that should not get the shots are pregnant women and those who have allergic reactions either to the shots themselves or to egg-related products.
The remaining 2014 flu shot clinic will be --
October 22 (Wednesday)The program is free and on a walk-in basis, with no reservations needed.
