Cost-cutting doesn't extend to Mayor

She loves me... She loves me not... She loves me... She loves me not... She loves me...

Not.

Layoffs are in the air. Make that 'non-retaliatory' layoffs, to use one of Mayor Robinson-Briggs' turns of phrase.

PT previously questioned buying a bus and laying off people (see here under 'Rec Bus') and in today's Ledger (
"Plainfield will lay off nine to rein in budget"), the Administration and the union weigh in on the issue of layoffs.

What remains unsaid is that the Mayor's interest in REINING THINGS IN doesn't seem to extend to her 'Mayoral' expenses, where -- if last September is an indication -- we're on target to clock in at over $35,000 per year in eats and treats. That would be an employee salary, right there.

Not to mention the FLOWERS which she has delivered weekly -- at taxpayer expense -- to freshen multiple offices in the 'Mayor's Complex'. What?! You didn't know about the flowers? You have to wonder what else you don't know.

As Mae West might say, "What's next, hand-peeled grapes?"
