Moving sale Friday and Saturday

1083 Hillside Avenue is on the corner of Chetwynd Avenue.

There is a special moving sale in Plainfield this Friday and Saturday at 1083 Hillside Avenue from 10 AM -4 PM each day (no early birds).

What makes is special is not just the items you will find irresistible, but that it means longtime Plainfielders Carol and Jim Bicket will soon be heading off to their new digs in Tinton Falls.

Carol is known to all as the irrepressible committeewoman for Ward 2, District 5 on the Demoncratic City Committee. For more than a dozen years she has been a dynamo in her district and throughout the city in support of New Democrat candidates for office. Carol is famous for rallying support for causes in which she believes, from her political activity to the Friends of the Library to the outreach programs of United Church of Christ-Congregational.

Husband Jim is a New England transplant whose father moved the family to Plainfield many years ago when he took up duties as the minister at
United Church of Christ-Congregational. Jim has lived in Plainfield ever since.

Carol and Jim will be parting with some of their stuff, including --
  • Furniture (including tables and chairs)
  • Lamps
  • Rugs
  • Linens
  • China (including Lenox)
  • Lawn furniture
  • Holiday decorations (Christmas, Halloween, Easter, etc.)
  • Sleds
  • Yard tools (including leaf blower)
  • Antique Army trunk
  • Brick-a-brack
Take a moment to stop by and see what you can't resist as well as bid farewell to these stalwart friends of Plainfield. They will be missed by all and we wish them well. (Well, almost all -- Assemblyman Green will probably not miss Carol's outspoken questions at Committee meetings.)
