Congressman Holt holds Town Hall Saturday

Congressman Rush Holt represents Plainfield.

Plainfield residents are invited to a Town Hall hosted by Congressman Rush Holt on Saturday, January 11 at 1:00 PM.

Holt, who became Plainfield's representative in Congress after the 2010 Census, is a leading Democratic liberal in the Congress.

He has enthusiastically embraced Plainfield and its residents as part of his District -- even featuring the Drake House Museum as his 2012 Christmas card.

The Town Hall will allow residents from communities in this part of his District to air their concerns face-to-face with the genial Congressman. Holt says he is prepared to discuss the economy, healthcare, job creation, education or anything else on his constituents' minds.

The Town Hall gets under way at 1:00 PM at the Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School Auditorium, 667 Westfield Road in Scotch Plains. Parking is available on the school grounds -- enter off Westfield Road.

For more information, visit Congressman Holt's website at holt.house.gov/townhall.

Rep. Holt proved himself thoughtful and intelligent. He is a man I trust on the big issues: military spending cuts, removing caps on FICA tax to strengthen social security, a Medicare-for-all approach to universal health care. There were some in the audience who see creeping socialism in every effort to improve the common good, and he was evasive about the White House rule that subsidizes Congressional staff ACA premiums. Thanks for alerting us to the event (although only about 80 people were present.)
