Tour begins at historic Church of the Holy Cross.
Plainfielders who can never get enough of house tours will have an opportunity Saturday for a special holiday treat -- a tour of North Plainfield's Washington Park Historic District's Victorian beauties.
All dressed up for the holidays will be nine of the District's outstanding Victorian homes and an architectural rarity, the Church of the Holy Cross, an exceptional example of the mid-19th century Carpenter Gothic style.
Whether you love old houses, warm and inviting Christmas decorations, or an opportunity to see how others have handled the challenges of adapting modern living to antique homes, this is the tour for you.
Owners will be on hand to answer questions and explain both the background of the homes and what they have done to adapt them to 21st-century lifestyles.
Proceeds of the event will be divided between the Plainfield area's Tri-County Chapter of the American Red Cross and beautification projects within the Washington Park Historic District.
Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 at the door. To reserve, call Frank D'Amore at (908) 757-6353.
