Darlene McWilliams, that is.

The recently widowed wife of former Plainfield mayor Al McWilliams is being talked about as a challenger to Sharon Robinson-Briggs in 2009 should Robinson-Briggs choose to run for a second term.

Talk started swirling in City Hall shortly after the late mayor's funeral.

Now, however, I have learned that her name is being discussed among politicos at the county -- and even higher -- level.

Fasten your seat belts, folks, it's going to be an interesting ride.
