The Rev. Dr. Tracy Sprowls is taking up new duties. |
I learned from a friend I bumped into at the Plainfield Public Library's Garden Tour on Sunday that the Rev. Dr. Tracy Sprowls, minister of the First Unitarian Society of Plainfield (FUSP) led her final service there on Sunday.
Tracy, who is well known throughout the community and has served FUSP since 2009 will be joining the staff of All Souls Unitarian Church in New York City. All Souls, once a quiet congregation with a distinguished history is now the nationals leading voice of liberal religion.
While FUSP is not one of the denomination's largest congregations, it casts a long shadow indeed. Another former minister, Margot Campbell-Gross, one of the founders of Faith, Bricks & Mortar, moved on from FUSP a number of years ago to become the lead minister of the First Unitarian Church of San Francisco, another famed Unitarian-Universalist congregation.
Congratulations and best wishes to Tracy and her husband David Jenks as they make this new move.
