PLAINFIELD HIRES NEW HEALTH OFFICER
Plainfield, NJ – May 9, 2014 -- The City of Plainfield is pleased to announce the appointment of Denise L. Proctor as the Health Officer effective Monday, May 12, 2014.
“The City has been without a permanent full-time health officer for over a year,” said Mayor Adrian Mapp. “The Administration and the members of the Plainfield City Council agreed on the urgent need to fill this position and address Plainfield’s health needs.”
Mrs. Proctor, who has over 16 years of health officer experience, possesses an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the health issues specific to Union County and Plainfield. She began her career as a Senior Inspector with the Jersey City Health Department. She then served as a Senior Health Inspector with the City of Bloomfield and then in the Rahway Health Department. She also served as Health Officer for Rahway, and then served as the Director/Health Officer for the County of Union Division of Health. She later joined the Union County Utilities Authority as the Director of Solid Waste and Recycling and served in that capacity for six years.
Mrs. Proctor received a Master of Arts Degree in Security Studies/Homeland Security and Defense from the Naval Post Graduate School of Monterey, CA and also received a Master of Science Degree in Health Administration from Jersey City State College. Mrs. Proctor obtained her undergraduate degree in Community Health from Jersey City State College.

Wonderful news. Is Ms. Proctor a resident of Plainfield?
Some years ago we had a Health officer named Proctor. Is this lady any relation?
