Thursday trilemma: Christie, Concert or Muhlenberg?

It is?

Time was when Plainfielders only had one option of an evening's events. But no more.

This Thursday, adults will have a trilemma -- a difficult choice between three options. Though, with careful planning, a person can make two out of three.
CONCERT AT PLAINWOOD SQUARE PARK
Doo Wop fans will be pleased that Plainfield SID's summer concert series continues this Thursday with a free concert at Plainwood Square Park on South Avenue, featuring Party of Five. The concert runs from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. The weather should be nice and little cooler by then. Bring along your own lawnchairs.
MUHLENBERG PROPERTY HEARING
The fate of the vacant Muhlenberg Hospital property is on the docket at a Planning Board hearing on the matter set for 7:30 PM Thursday evening at City Hall Library.

The Planning Board has had a study prepared to give them guidance on deciding whether or not the property qualifies as 'in need of redevelopment'. An affirmative vote on the questions by the Board will move the matter to the City Council, where any final decision must be made.

The report and maps are currently available for inspection at the Planning Division offices on the second floor of City Hall between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM.

The public will have an opportunity to speak at the Board meeting.
FOX NEWS GOP DEBATE
Finally, for politics junkies (I am one), Fox News holds the first Republican presidential candidates debate Thursday evening at 9:00 PM.

Gov. Chris Christie managed to squeak in by a hair. The problem for Christie on Thursday will be that two candidates will be stealing his thunder: Donald Trump for the outrageous sound bites, and Ohio Governor John Kasich, a moderate with a proven track record and whose state HAS recovered from the Great Recession.
Youngsters (of all ages) who may not favor any of the above choices can check out the Rec Division's showing of Box Trolls at 8:30 PM at Seidler Field.
