Mayor Robinson-Briggs bags groceries for charity Wednesday

Paper or plastic will be irrelevant Wednesday.
Plainfield Mayor Sharon Robinson-Briggs will join several area mayors on Wednesday to bag groceries for charity at the Blue Star ShopRite, according to a story by Mark Spivey in Tuesday's Courier (see here). They will be on duty from 10 AM to Noon.

Shoppers will be asked to make a $1 donation which will go to support two Plainfield feeding programs -- Grace's Kitchen and Neighborhood House -- as well as the Foodbank of NJ, which supplies feeding programs throughout central New Jersey.

This is a worthwhile opportunity to get some grocery shopping done, chat with local officials and donate to a worthy cause.

No tasteless future employment opportunities jokes, please.

It's nice of the mayors to bag groceries, but anything for a photo op, and our mayor is famous for that.

She is well-known for shopping out of town like at A and P in South Plainfield and not supporting C Town, Twin City or other Plainfield business. It is another photo op.
