Jerry Green does a [push] poll?

The current poll may remind you of fabled Flatland.

Is Plainfield's premier push pollster, Jerry Green, at it again?

Facing another run for the Assembly and having to make his vice-mayor Sharon Robinson-Briggs run the gauntlet again, it seems the chair of the Plainfield Democratic City Committee may have turned to his favorite tool -- the 'push poll'.

Reports began coming in early last evening that a hired service was rolling out questions to registered Democratic voters.

Though there were several questions aimed at teasing out opinions on Jerry's performance, it seems there wasn't any interest in hearing opinions on his efforts in relation to saving Muhlenberg. The voters may have more to say on that later.

In Flatland, everything is arranged around His Majesty's perceptions.

As for the mayoral race, respondents were asked how they would vote if faced with several candidates, including the current mayor, Councilor Adrian Mapp and PMUA chairperson Carol Brokaw.

But the most uproarious question came later: "If you knew that the murder rate had gone down 300% while Sharon Robinson-Briggs was mayor, would you be more or less inclined to vote for her?"

Let's see, if the rate goes down 100%, that means all murders are erased.

So, an additional 200% decrease means...?

...a negative murder rate?

Has Mayor Robinson-Briggs managed to 'unmurder' people?

Or has that wily old polling scientist, Jerry Green?

In Flatland, His Majesty sees Lineland as a point.

I got the call at around 9:30 P.M. last night. At first, I wouldn't participate until the pollster told me who was funding this effort. He wasn't permitted to do that, but he did tell me that it would become clear. It did. The questions were heavily weighted to support Green and the mayor. I am proud to say that I must have really shifted that bell curve.

Thank you 7:57AM --

As readers well know, shifts happen.

Keep up the good work!

LMAO - Jerry should have been in comedy....oh wait a minute...he is. Hopefully Jerry's Cheshire Cat will be out of office and the comedy act will take a backstage to moving this city ANYWHERE but backwards.

Thanks for the heads up. I got the call tonight and wouldn't have participated except for learning about the poll here. It was very biased toward Sharon and Jerry. I had fun with my answers. At the end I told the pollster that I knew everyone mentioned personally. She said it sounded like it. I hope Jerry and Sharon enjoy the results.

Maybe Jerry is saying that Sharon can actually raise the dead. That's the only way she will get re elected!

Hey! This is New Joisey!!

You're not sayin' the dead can't vote, are you?

Do it in Hudson County all the time.

Murders 300% down meaning what? I guess "unmurder" is what her highness will be touting? Maybe she can raise the dead. It's clear that she will have to find a way to raise her dying prospects of becoming mayor again. It's also clear that the "push poll" is designed to just get some feedback on what the mayor's campaign issues will be.

For example, if the response is that callers are happy that she has brought down the murder rate, they will focus on the murder spike that occurred in the last year of McWilliams.

If the callers are upset at PMUA she will "act" like she is upset at the PMUA.

If the people are angry about the budget, she will come out very forcefully and say that it is the city council's job to pass the budget.

If the people are angry about the roads, they will say that McWilliams personally dug deep potholes in his last year in office.

If people are upset about Muhlenberg she and Jerry Green will continue to say (laughable as it is and stupid as they sound) that the so-called "New Democrat" Solaris board and Cory Storch are responsible for closing the hospital.

They are a joke.
